IBIS at Graph Expo

We’re pleased to announce that two IBIS Smart-binders will be exhibited at Graph Expo 2008 in Chicago, USA.

IBIS partners, CP Bourg and Océ are showing Smart-binder products on their booths, one running in-line and the other near-line.

CP Bourg will be feeding the Smart-Binder SB-3 directly from a Lasermax roll LX Series unwinder/cutter. The IBIS SB-3 will demonstrate the ability of the Smart-binder to produce both stitched and ISG cold-glued finished booklets. They will produce a 144 page booklet with a separately-fed pre-printed cover at running speeds up to 300 feet per minute. The rolls will be printed by Xerox on a CF 1300 printer. Océ will show a Smart-binder SB-3 running in-line with their new VS8750 printer. They will produce two versions of our Smart-binder Application guide (both the full 108 page edition and also a slimmed down version, with page extents varying on the run). The binding method will be switched between wire stitching and ISG cold-gluing, to demonstrate both possibilities. ISG cold-gluing produces a “stitchless” booklet with superior “lay-open” characteristics and greater page binding strength. Océ will also demonstrate the option of a separately-fed cover.
