IBIS exhibit Smart-binder model SB-1 in-line with Océ VarioPrint i300 color sheet-fed press at the Canon Cutting Edge Event

A Smart-binder SB-1 was demonstrated running in-line with an Océ VarioPrint VPi300 full color ink-jet sheet-fed press at the Canon Cutting Edge Event in Venlo, Netherlands, March 13 -15, 2018

IBIS SB-1 in-line with Océ VarioPrint i300 cut-sheet printer

The SB-1 produced a mixture of high quality 16 page and 36 page A5 booklets which were color printed on different stock materials, including Sappi Magno Plus Gloss 115 gsm. The system configuration seen at Cutting Edge was for A5 booklet production only, in-line with the VPi300 printer, but other configurations will be offered in future for booklet sizes such as A4.

Key features of the Smart-binder SB-1 when used in-line with the Océ VarioPrint i300 are:

• High Speed: All booklets, including 8 pagers, produced at maximum printer speed

• No printer pauses needed

• Link to the VarioPrint i300 printer: The SB-1 will in future be offered with full 'DFD' interface

• Standard or 2D barcode with future link to Prisma for job integrity control

• Booklet Integrity: for constantly variable page-count

• Booklet Quality: individual sheet folding, 3-side trim

• Two-up production: for small format booklets

• ISG cold-glue binding: as a higher quality alternative to wire stitching
